When it comes to Microsoft Teams, not all businesses want to pay for PSTN calling on a ‘per user, per month’ basis. This seemingly small cost can quickly add up, especially for large and mid-sized organisations.
If you’re a service provider, and you’re pitching Teams Calling to your clients, chances are you’ve lost deals because of this inflexible billing model.
Delivering cost-savings in Teams shouldn’t be this difficult. That’s why we’ve introduced new ‘channel-based’ plans (alongside our existing ‘per user’ plans) within the Unite Calling product suite.
Now you have the flexibility to tailor your billing model to different customer requirements – and win more deals in the process.
We first introduced Unite Calling in 2022. It is a turnkey, white label solution for delivering, managing, and billing PSTN calling in Teams.
Building on the success of our original product launch, Unite Calling is now available in two variants: Hosted and Self-Managed. These two versions offer different billing models and require different levels of technical expertise.
PowerShell management is one of the biggest headaches of delivering and managing PSTN calling in Teams.
To address this, Unite Calling Hosted eliminates PowerShell scripting entirely. Instead, offering fully automated deployment and a no-code management portal built right into the Teams platform.
In this Hosted version, all aspects of telecom connectivity and Direct Routing are managed by Telcoinabox on your behalf. You simply provide the Microsoft licensing and take charge of day-to-day moves, adds and changes.
The Hosted version is delivered on a ‘per user, per month’ basis – with the option for both Pay As You Go (PAYG) and Included Call plans.
Unite Calling Hosted is ideal for service providers that do not have expertise in PowerShell, or simply want to save time when making routine changes. It can also be used to provide a self-service capability to your Enterprise clients.
Unite Calling Self-Managed is our new channel-based offering. It is suited to Microsoft administrators that are confident with both PowerShell and IP telephony.
This Self-Managed version allows admins to directly control their Direct Routing setup and configuration. It does not include advanced automation or configuration features, but it does offer lower cost ‘channel-based’ calling plans.
The product allows you to connect SIP trunks into your Teams environment and host multiple phone numbers, with full control over call concurrency ratios.
We anticipate that service providers will be able to significantly reduce the cost of Teams calling plans using our Self-Managed solution. This is because organisations can choose to share SIP Trunks among tens of users, rather than one per user.
Unite Calling Self-Managed is available on a Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) basis, allowing you to pay only for what you use. Our channel-based billing structure offers a modular approach that scales with your needs, providing significant cost savings for larger deployments.
Like all Telcoinabox products, Teams Calling can be ordered and provisioned via our native Billing Platform.
The advantage of using our native Billing Platform (compared to a third-party billing tool) is that it includes carrier-level automations.
When you order a new Teams Calling service via the Billing Platform, our system will order SIP trunks and condition Direct Inward Dialling (DID) numbers. This automation also handles the porting of DIDs and DNS record configuration, minimising errors and speeding up deployment.
Once provisioned, services delivered under the Self-Managed version will need additional steps and manual work to be commercially ready.
Eliminate the objection of price and adapt to the changing UCaaS market. With Unite Calling, Self-Managed and Hosted, you have two flexible billing models that can serve a wider range of Enterprise needs.
We are thrilled to bring you this innovative solution and look forward to helping you enhance your Microsoft Teams communication strategy.
